Jackson Hole Mountain Resort Guided Hike

The Jackson Hole Mountain Resort tram provides easy access to spectacular high mountain scenery of the southern Teton Range. Although most tourists just take the tram to the top of the mountain, Earth Tours has an exclusive contract to guide a unique and wonderful hike down Rendezvous Mountain to the top of the Gondola at mid-mountain.   Beginning at the top of the tram on Rendezvous Mountain at 10,450′ elevation, we would take in breathtaking views of Jackson Hole, its rivers, and surrounding mountains. Hiking down Cardiac Ridge and Rock Springs valley, we will marvel at alpine wildflowers, wildlife, and ancient fossils. This 4-5 mile hike descends by about 2400 feet with steep ridges, alpine valleys and cirques, then traverses the east face of the Teton Range with ascents to lofty vantagepoints totaling about 1000 feet.  Stunted trees can bearly survive at the highest summits, but forests transition from subalpine fir, spruce and white-bark pine to the highest groves of aspens.  Our naturalists’ pace will allow you to catch your breath with dignity in the thin alpine air.  At the end of the hike, it will be happy hour at The Deck located at the top of the Gondola, so optional cool beverages and appetizers will top off a wonderful hike.
