Exploring all the “hot spots”, our route takes us up the valley of Jackson Hole at the foot of the Tetons through Grand Teton National Park, then circles the south loop in Yellowstone National Park (this 280 mile journey typically takes about 12 hours). Getting an early start allows us to spot wildlife and see the Tetons spotlighted in the morning light. Old Faithful has a lot more than this most famous geyser. Depending upon your interests and abilities, we will walk on boardwalks to see beautiful hot springs and geysers. If lucky, we might see some of the other predictable geysers. You can dine at the historic and beautiful Old Faithful Inn or bring a box lunch for a picnic by a mountain stream (lunch not included in price or tour; but Keith’s wonderful assortment of snacks are free). The scenic highlight of the trip is the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone River, an incredibly deep, rugged, and colorful gorge with two huge waterfalls. The wildlife-rich Hayden Valley is where the buffalo roam and perhaps bear or wolves. The shoreline of Yellowstone Lake is another beauty spot to admire before our return to Jackson Hole.
