After a hike along a clear running stream, we climb onto a sandstone mesa that is literally covered with waterpockets. Views in all directions provide a gorgeous backdrop – Boulder Mountain, the Henry Mountains, and Navajo Mountain mark three compass points amidst the awesome Escalante drainage that surrounds you. This place is truly magical with hidden alcoves, huge domes with fin-like ramparts separated by broad deep canyons and narrows etched into the sandstone. To top it off, the Navajo Sandstone changes color here from blonde to red to make an even more beautiful landscape.
