Great Red Spot

Sandstone cliffs here are mostly bleached white with golden highlights, but one huge patch retains its original red color. Descending a dry wash with waterpockets and pour-offs, we quickly make our way into the wilderness. Reaching a clear running stream lined by cottonwoods, willows, birch, and a few Ponderosa pines, we will boulder hop across it, trying to keep our feet dry. Skirting around a knob littered with black volcanic boulders, we will traverse slickrock bench with occasional views of the stream below and make our way into a couple gorgeous slot canyons.
