Views of Death

This route is a real stairmaster at high elevations, so you better be in shape for this challenge! Covering nearly 7 miles and 1700’ elevation gain/loss as we cross a deep canyon and climb to a saddle takes more endurance than you might think. More than worth the effort, this route is awesome, crossing a lovely stream that cascades across the slickrock sandstone, passing numerous unusual rock formations, and ascending to incredible views over Death Hollow, the most rugged, wild, deep and intricately carved of the Escalante Canyon. Waterpockets abound in the bottom of sandstone canyons and are flanked by Ponderosa pines.
